How to Measure Your Body Type

Everyone has their own genetic makeup that influences their body shape and how their body distributes fat mass. Use a soft measuring tape parallel to the floor to take each of these measurements:

  • Bust: Take the measurement at the fullest point of your bust. Make sure that the tape is not too tight so you can inhale and exhale freely.
  • Waist: Measure your waist at the narrowest portion just above your navel.
  • High Hip: The upper swell mapping of the pelvic region, crossing over the prominent lateral iliac crest arcs (roughly 7 inches or 18 cm deep of the natural waist line).
  • Hips (Low): Stand up straight and wrap the tape measure around the widest part of the hips as viewed from the side.
